How We Rebuilt a Dubai Agency Website, Business Baker Dubai

Every agency says it can grow your business online. The honest test is what it does with a website when nobody is watching. This case study walks through a full SEO, AI search and speed overhaul of a Dubai digital marketing agency website: what we found, what we fixed and the before and after numbers.

The site looked polished on the surface. Underneath, slow mobile loading, broken enquiry paths, thin service pages and inconsistent technical signals were quietly costing it visibility and leads.

The challenge

The website served a competitive market: businesses in Dubai and across the UAE comparing agencies for paid ads, SEO, social media and web design. A detailed audit of all 42 pages in the sitemap showed a strong technical base, but several problems that hurt both rankings and conversions:

  • Slow mobile loading. On a standard mobile test the homepage took 8.6 seconds to show its main content, with around 3 seconds lost to files that blocked the page from rendering.
  • Broken journeys. A menu link to the consulting service returned a 404 error on every page of the site, and two service pages had a main enquiry button that went nowhere.
  • Thin, generic service content. Many service pages listed benefits but did not answer the questions buyers actually ask.
  • Claims that weakened trust. Phrases like “the best”, “guaranteed” and “rank at number one” appeared across the site, alongside typos and grammar slips.
  • Messy structured data. The business was described twice in two unconnected ways, the homepage told search engines that a decorative arrow was its main image, and the author profile was incomplete.
  • Not ready for AI search. Content was not structured for AI answers, and crawlers from tools like ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity were not explicitly welcomed.

What we did

SEO case study results: mobile speed score from 59 to 82, load time from 8.6 to 2.9 seconds, broken menu links from 84 to 0

1. Made the site fast on mobile

We generated critical CSS for key pages so the visible part of each page loads first and the rest follows, gave the homepage hero image priority loading, stabilized a scrolling ticker that caused the layout to jump on desktop and fixed images that never loaded because of a lazy loading conflict.

2. Repaired every broken journey

We pointed the consulting menu item to the right page and redirected the old address, fixed the enquiry buttons that led nowhere, removed redirect chains from internal links and cleaned duplicate URLs out of the XML sitemap. We also found and removed an empty 800 pixel video block that left a large blank gap on the about page.

3. Rebuilt service content around real questions

We added expert FAQ sections with structured data to 19 service and hub pages, clarified the difference between organic social media management and paid advertising, and linked each page to the most useful next step for the reader.

4. Replaced hype with substance

We rewrote more than 20 statements that overpromised, such as guaranteed results and first place rankings, into clear descriptions of process, scope and reporting, and fixed grammar and typos across the site. Honest copy builds trust with readers and with search engines that reward helpful content.

5. Cleaned up structured data

We merged two competing business descriptions into one, added verified opening hours and location, gave every service and the free tool a stable identity, completed the author profile and replaced the decorative arrow with a real image as the homepage’s main image.

6. Prepared the site for AI search

We explicitly welcomed 20 AI and search crawlers in the robots file, kept an llms.txt file in place, structured articles with short answers, tables and FAQs, and linked every statistic to its original source so AI tools have trustworthy material to cite.

7. Built content that attracts and converts

We launched a free ad budget calculator for UAE businesses, published seven in depth guides on topics such as Google Ads costs, ad budgets and performance marketing, and connected them with service pages through clear internal links.

8. Improved accessibility and trust signals

We added proper labels to form fields, named icon buttons for screen readers, replaced generic image descriptions, published visible opening hours and added real job openings with structured data on the careers page.

Speed figures are lab results from Google PageSpeed Insights using an emulated mobile device on a slow 4G connection, before and after the work. Single runs can vary.

Just as important as the numbers: every page now loads quickly, every link and button goes where it should, and every claim on the site can be backed up. That is the foundation that rankings, AI citations and leads are built on.

Key lessons for any business website

  • Speed is often the fastest win. Many sites lose seconds to files that block rendering. Fixing that helps every visitor and every campaign.
  • Check your journeys, not just your pages. A single broken menu link can appear on every page and quietly waste traffic.
  • Answer the questions buyers ask. FAQs and clear explanations help readers, Google and AI tools at the same time.
  • Be specific, not superlative. Proof and process persuade better than “the best” and “guaranteed”.
  • Keep structured data consistent. One clear description of your business beats several competing ones.

Frequently asked questions

How long did the project take?

The core technical, content and speed work was completed in a few focused weeks. SEO is a long term discipline, so content publishing, link building and monitoring continue every month.

Did rankings and traffic improve straight away?

Technical improvements such as speed, crawlability and structured data take effect as soon as search engines recrawl the pages. Rankings and organic leads build over the following months, which is why we track Search Console data monthly rather than judging results in the first weeks.

Why did you focus on AI search as well as Google?

More buyers now ask AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity for recommendations. Clear answers, FAQ content, structured data and open access for AI crawlers make a website easier for these tools to understand and cite.

Can you run the same audit on my website?

Yes. Our SEO audit covers technical health, content, structured data, speed and AI search readiness, and ends with a prioritized action plan. Get in touch to book one.

What was the single biggest win?

Mobile speed. Fixing render blocking CSS cut the homepage Largest Contentful Paint from 8.6 seconds to 2.9 seconds in lab tests, which improves both user experience and how search engines judge the page.
